Thanks for the Memories…

My son’s the one in the goggles!
It’s that time of the year again. Time for a family holiday so you start researching, planning, deciding where you’re going. You chose your accommodation. Finally, you’re there and you’re sipping your cocktail while you lounge by the pool. Suddenly your teenager says, “I’m bored” and you realise you’ve sorted the little ones out, even you and your partner, but you didn’t check what was available for your near adult child. SHE’s editor Delia and her son Derren explore together adventurous holiday activities.
Mango Beach Inn, St Lucia
Mango Beach, an old stone bed and breakfast inn on the waterfront in Marigot Bay, St Lucia, offers 20% summer discounts to Caribbean travelers. There’s no road to Mango Beach and guests arrive on the quaint little ferry which takes just two minutes to cross the bay and runs 24 hours a day.
“I AM CARIBBEAN” CENSUS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
CaribLifeCentral.com is encouraging Caribbean-Americans to identify their nationality on the 2010 Census. “Historically, Caribbean-Americans have been underrepresented in the US Census,” explained Sheldon Mundle, president of CaribLifeCentral.com. “This marginalised our contributions to American society and adversely affected our community in terms of quality of education, business investments and advertising dollars.”
ST LUCIA IN NEW YORK
The Saint Lucia Tourist Board is reporting strong and genuine interest in the destination from their participation at the recent New York Times Travel Show at Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York.
“We were really pleased with the show this year and thrilled that there was such a high interest in Saint Lucia,” reported Lorine St. Jules, the New York City-based representative of the Saint Lucia Tourist Board. “Everyone was telling us that they saw us on The Bachelor (ABC’s television series) so we are pleased that our promotions have been successful,” she added, explaining that excellent contacts were made and bookings to St Lucia secured.
